Problem

I was always noticing that the background color of my site (#6E7B6C) seems to be brighter when I first open it up, then within a few seconds, it would automatically be darker. However, using some color capturers would give the exact same color.

After a bit of experimenting, I realized that it only happened if I went from a dark/black background screen.

That’s how I began to find clues in Windows 11 auto brightness change.

Solution

In system settings, open System -> Monitors, find the brightness bar at the top, and click the expand button on the right;

In the expanded menu, disable something like Changing brightness according to the content.

After that, it should be fine.

It can be annoying for someone working with colors.

On older Windows…

On my old Windows 10 tablet, enter “power source config” (or something like that) -> “change the planned settings” -> “advanced power config” -> “display” -> “enable self-adapting brightness”.
