Intro

I was attending a short summer camp in Department of Physics, Fudan University. Obviously I can’t connect to WHU-WLAN or WHU-STU; however, both WHU and Fudan provide eduroam service, making it possible to use Wi-Fi with a universal identity.

Steps

Windows 11

  • Search for eduroam in the Wi-Fi list. On connecting, the typical user ID would be something like student_id@school.edu.cn. For example, my user ID through WHU is my_student_id@whu.edu.cn.

  • As for the password, my successful take was to enter my school account password.

Then you should be able to connect.

Android / HarmonyOS

It’s a little bit complicated, given that it gives you a lot of explicit options. Here are some options that I used.

  • EAP Method: PEAP should be fine, according to this article;

  • Phase 2 Verification: I used the default option MSCHAPv2;

  • CA Certificate: No Verification;

  • ID, Anonymous ID and Password: the username and password above;

  • The other options remain the same as default.
