Fonts Missing Unexpectedly in Windows 11, and a Possible Solution

Problem

I was opening an instance of Windows Terminal (with Powershell 7), when I got a messagebox saying that the font I was using, UbuntuMono Nerd Font, cannot be found. Then I updraded my Powershell, tried other softwares (including the system font manager), and couldn’t find it either.

Solution

I searched it online, and saw some discussions; one possible trigger of this problem might be the Windows Font Cache Service. Somehow it was messed up, and I have to manually restart it in services.msc.

So I tried it, and it works afterwards.
